LMS for coaching institutes in India

An LMS for coaching institutes in India: classrooms, exams, question banks, a student wallet and an AI assistant, priced by learners online, not per student.

The situation

A coaching institute usually runs several batches at once, across more than one teacher, and needs exams that behave the same way every time: the same question bank, the same timer, the same grading rules, for every student in the batch. Students expect to pay in rupees, by UPI, and to get a receipt. Staff expect one place to manage all of it rather than a spreadsheet plus a payment link plus a separate video tool.

What an institute needs

Multiple teachers need their own classrooms without stepping on each other's batches. Exams need to be reusable across cohorts rather than rebuilt every term, with objective questions that grade themselves and give the institute per-question analytics on where students are getting stuck. Live classes need recordings so a student who misses a session can catch up. Payments need to be in rupees, ideally with autopay so renewals do not depend on someone remembering to pay manually. And a student who has taken batches before should not start from zero: some sense of progress and engagement (streaks, small rewards) helps retention.

How Classory fits

Classory's classroom system covers cohort and weekly-drip batches with enrolment caps, live classrooms with recordings, and threaded discussion for questions outside class hours. The exam engine gives an institute reusable question banks, timed attempts with shuffled questions, auto-grading of objective questions, per-question analytics, and configurable re-attempt rules, plus skill tests for placement-style assessment.

Clay, the built-in AI assistant, answers routine student questions around the clock so teaching staff spend less time on repeat queries, and can generate practice questions from a bank. Gamification (login streaks, brain games, XP and leaderboards) gives students a reason to keep coming back between live sessions. Payments run in rupees through Razorpay with UPI and card support, GST invoices, and a student wallet; with your own Razorpay account, Classory takes 0% commission, or a flat 5% on the managed option, and there is no setup or branding fee. Plans are priced by how many learners are online at the same time rather than by total enrolment, so a large alumni list does not by itself push you to a bigger plan.

What to check first

Classory does not have an exam proctoring add-on yet, so if an institute needs webcam or browser-lockdown monitoring for a high-stakes exam, that is worth confirming is not a requirement before switching. If an institute is moving off another tool, student and course import is assisted rather than fully self-serve one-click migration, so plan time with the Classory team for that step. There are no native iOS or Android apps today; students use the web app, which works in a mobile browser. See /trust/ for the full list of what is not yet supported.

How to start

A workspace can be set up on its own branded subdomain, or a fully custom domain, in minutes at /onboarding, with no code required. See /pricing/ for current plans and what each one includes; support is available by email at hello@classory.app, with priority email support on the Pro and Academy plans.

Frequently asked questions

Can more than one teacher run classes on the same Classory workspace? Yes. A workspace supports multiple teachers running their own classrooms, batches and question banks within one institute account.

Does Classory support proctored exams? Not yet. Exam proctoring is on the not-yet list; see /trust/ for the current status. Timed, auto-graded exams with shuffled questions and reusable question banks are available today.

How does Classory charge for a large batch of students? Plans are sized by how many learners are online at the same time, not by how many students are enrolled, so there is no per-student fee. See /pricing/ for the current tiers.

Can students pay for batches with UPI? Yes. Classory is built for India with native UPI Autopay and card payments through Razorpay, and every price is in rupees with a GST invoice.
